EVENTS
Service Workers Appreciation Program (SWAP)SWAP is an annual project that has been going on for three years. It is one of PRSSP’s social responsibility programs that not only manifests PRSSP’s value for volunteerism but also works as acknowledgement for the staff and workers of UP Manila. The project was for students to take the shift of the staff and workers for at least 30 minutes to do various tasks such as cleaning the comfort rooms and corridors. As a token of appreciation for the volunteers, free products from sponsors are given.
PR MonthHeld every January, the PR Month consists of several events aiming to inform UP Manila students about public relations. Events include seminars featuring speakers from the PR industry, Reach Out to Fly (ROTF)–an income generating project wherein the raffle winner can win a trip for two to Cebu, Davao or Boracay, an Internals Seminar for the members of the organization where they can learn more about PR, the Service Workers Appreciation Program (SWAP) and a corporate social responsibility project.

FRESH SeriesThe Fresh Series is three-part event where the different blocks of first year students can participate. The first part of the series is a symposium forum which features speakers who are experts on the theme of the event for the year. The second part is a film workshop where they learn the basics of acting, editing, and directing. The students will then produce their own short films which will be shown through the Freshie Film Fest, the final part of the series. The importance of this project is proven through its ability to influence the students and inspire them. The Fresh Series in 2012 was concerned with how public relations is used to view issues of national importance as well as the youth’s role and perspective in these issues while in 2013, the theme was Original Pinoy Music.
